SOCIAL ANGST is more than just a blog, it is an invitation to aid in the building of wealth through the shared task of information distribution and discussion. It is a call to engage – engage in society, engage with your peers, engage in your political system, engage in spreading the wealth that is information, and engage in multiplying that wealth through discussion – so that collectively we may become more socially aware, more socially responsible, more socially vocal and ultimately more socially valuable.

Small Talk: Muhammad Ali Opens Parkinson Center

"To be able to give away riches is mandatory if you wish to possess them. This is the only way that you will be truly rich."  -Muhammad Ali

On January 3, Muhammad Ali and his wife Lonnie attended the opening of The Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center.  Located in the St Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, the 10,000 square foot facility includes 10 exam rooms, a tremor exam room, a Botulinum toxin treatment room, a tilt room, treatment areas for physical, occupational and speech therapy, a store, a multipurpose room for education and recreation programs and a resource room with books, videos and computers.

The center, which is funded by donations, is sustained largely by Celebrity Fight Night, an annual fundraising event attended by Muhammad and Lonnie Ali.  The MAPC is dedicated to serving patients regardless of health care circumstances.  This commitment is known as Ali Care which allows persons with limited  or no health care insurance to receive the benefits of the treatment center.

For more information, or to make a donation to the center, visit www.maprc.com.
