"Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve" - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
In ten days volunteers across America will join together in altruism for the single benevolent cause of service in tribute of civil rights activist Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The National Martin Luther King Day of Service was officially designated by Congress in 1994. Since then over 500,000 volunteers have made the annual event an overwhelming success. Last year the event garnered even more support after a public endorsements by Colin Powel and (then President Elect) Barack Obama who, along with their families, participated in the day of service. If you are interested in serving as part of the event on January 18, 2010 please visit www.mlkday.gov to find volunteer opportunities in your area.
